Where would I start if I had a wide-scale change in my organisation and needed to find a better network solution to support the transition from old to new?
The key think to understand when transitioning from old to new is the underlying infrastructure, what you have today. By that I mean what does a network look like, so is the network end of life? What is its capacity? What type of technology do you have in addition to that I think gathering empirical data like application flows, what's the bandwidth utilization, that gives you a picture of what you've currently got today you balance that picture against your future needs and requirements, what's the compelling reason to act what is your business driver, those two things balance together, they give you where you are today, where you need to get to in the future and we would work together to find that road of how you get from A -B so the network plays a key part in that it applies the connectivity to the business critical application and also the change needed or the transformation needed in your organization.
