Steve’s IT career started in 1986 after leaving college. Steve joined a computer systems house in the West Midlands area and worked as an account manager responsible for sales of IBM and Apricot personal computers into local companies.
Steve joined Tandem Computers in 1986 as a customer engineer working on Tandem’s range of NonStop computer systems. During his 10 year history in Tandem Steve progressed to Account Manager for one of the UK’s largest banks achieving membership of Tandem’s Presidents Council and top UK salesman.
Steve joined IBM’s Banking Finance and Securities team in 1996. In 1999 Steve moved to a European role within what was then IBM’s Personal Systems Group managing the Intel and AMD based server and workstation platforms. In 2004 Steve returned to the UK and joined the Storage sales team within IBM’s Systems & Technology Group. Steve now works in the UK and Ireland Storage Brand team and is responsible for IBM’s DS range of storage products as well as IBM’s SAN Volume Controller storage virtualisation offering.
