Ian starts off explaining that information management is all about getting the right information, to the right place in the right format when the business user needs that data. Ian goes on the talk about the differences between unstructured and structured data, the components of an information management strategy and the relevance of data management and content management.
In his current role Ian is responsible for all aspects of IBM Software Group's Information Management Business. He leads a diverse team of specialists covering a large portfolio of solutions from data governance and privacy; relational database management; database archiving; enterprise content management and enterprise search; business intelligence, performance management and dashboarding; data warehousing; data quality and transformation, and master data management in its many forms.
