Is dynamic infrastructure a thought for the future or reality today?

It's reality today, there are organizations all around the world that have already implemented dynamic infrastructure capabilities, the start point tends to be different for different organizations depending on where they are today and what are their business priorities for example some clients come at this from an energy efficient perspective perhaps they're out of power or space at their data centre in the next couple of months and now's not a great time to be building a new data centre so we're working with them so see how we  can manage things in a more efficient manner, how can we do more with less how can we continue to grow the business needs within the existing energy and space envelope. There are other clients who have said they've done some virtualization but now they want to get a stronger management capability around managing those virtualized services with better governance, there are other companies that are saying they're interested in the enterprise asset management side, maybe they've got different assets being managed by different capabilities today and they want to bring them together to de-silo the organization and to deliver better levels of service and lower operational costs and we have organizations around the world who have done this and are saving millions annually. At the end of the day, what's important is you have a clear vision, you need to understand where you are today where you're trying to get to and map each step in accordance to your business priorities.
