Michael West is Professor of Organizational Psychology and Head of Aston Business School. He graduated from the University of Wales in 1973 and received his PhD in 1977. He is a Fellow of BAM, CIPD, IAAP, BPS, Royal Society for Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, APA and SIOP. He has authored, edited or co-edited sixteen books and has also published over 150 articles for scientific and practitioner publications, as well as chapters in scholarly books. His areas of research interest are team and organizational innovation and effectiveness, particularly in relation to the organization of health services. He lectures widely both nationally and internationally about the results of his research and his ideas for developing effective and innovative organizations.
